‘Whovian By Design’, Ep. 10: Christmas Special Preview

Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Time of The Doctor Preview

By Franco Romualdez

I don’t blame you if you’re still recovering from the awesomeness that was Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary. I know I am. And now the long awaited Christmas special is upon us. This upcoming special will mark the end of Matt Smith’s run as the Doctor, and what a run it was. Fans could only help but speculate on how the eleventh Doctor would meet his end this Christmas. Ever since it was announced, predicting how exactly the fall of the Eleventh would pan out became a popular trend. But it’s almost impossible to accurately predict what a mind like Steven Moffat would cook up, and based on the episode’s official trailer, Mr. Moffat has cooked up quite a feast.

It’s Almost Dinner Time

The Eleventh has routinely escaped death seemingly more than any other Doctor in the History of the show. So who or what could possibly kill the most un-killable Doctor of all? The answer: Everything. I mean did you see the trailer? If you haven’t, please do, because it’s crazy. The trailer features The Daleks, The Cybermen, The Silence, The Weeping Angels, and The Tasha Lem (?). All of whom have seemed to finally get the brilliant idea that the Doctor couldn’t POSSIBLY take on all of them at once. The trailer seems to suggest that that the episode will begin with the Doctor and Clara having dinner with her family. How exactly the arrival of the aforementioned plethora of unwanted guests spins into the “siege of Tenzelore” and the ultimate demise of the Eleventh Doctor, which will be caused by his personal altercation of his own future, escapes me.

Watch The Newsroom if you want logic, Dr Who laughs in its’ rational face.
