Clayface is back in Batman: The Dark Knight #25. While there seems to be an influx of Clayface stories in the past six months, this is one of the better ones in my opinion. In a story carefully crafted by Gregg Hurwitz (Vengeance of the Moon Knight, Penguin: Pain and Prejudice), Clayface has broken out of Arkham Asylum Continue reading

The end of one story, and the beginning of another. That’s what you get in The Wake #5, the bimonthly mini-series from Vertigo comics. As always, this issue comes from the creative team of Scott Snyder (Batman, American Vampire) and artist Sean Murphy (Punk Rock Jesus). Continue reading

In a galaxy far, far away…

There was non-stop action. Star Wars #11 by Brian Wood (DMZ, Ultimate Comics: X-Men) is a heart pounding ride in a space battle between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Continue reading

“Dark City” begins as Gotham City is plunged into total Darkness by the Riddler just days before superstorm Rene is posted to hit Gotham. With thirteen issues tying into Zero Year this month, several of which take place in “non-bat” books, this arc provides a nice alternative to Forever Evil, the universe-spanning event currently in play at DC Comics. Green Lantern Annual: ‘Lights Out’ Part Five

Today marks the end of the first Green Lantern event of the post-Geoff Johns era, who left the book after issue #21 to make way for Robert Venditti (X-O Manowar), and while the story held promise from the beginning, it fails to deliver in the end. Continue reading

While Nightwing Annual #1 is being marketed at a tie-in to the Batgirl: Wanted arc, it’s definitely not required reading material. I picked this book up because Nightwing is my all-time favorite hero and has been since I was a kid watching Batman: the Animated Series of the early-to-mid nineties. Continue reading
