[SPOILERS!!]

Review: It is always the ones we least expect the most, those we care about hiding in plain site. The monsters that stalk us come from all sides, but generally we are so fearful of what monster come from the outside that we fail to see the monsters that come from within.

This episode centers mostly around the mystery of Lash, the Inhuman killer that’s been running loose from the Agents since the season premiered. We do get to find out who he is by the end, but to most of the cast say one – May – his identity still remains unknown. It it will be very interesting to see how everyone reacts once they find out such a lovable character has been killing Inhumans this entire time.

I won’t spoil who it is, but since I’m writing this from the perspective of someone who hasn’t seen past this episode of this season just yet and so I am still many weeks behind on this season, I know most of you probably know how this storyline turns out but I still don’t. And there are some people who may read this who are also where I am at in the story, and so for them I will not spoil.

It was fun seeing Hunter team up with Mack and Daisy – who’ve been a really dynamic duo this season so far, an unlikely pairing and I’ve been really enjoying it – while everyone is still mad at him. While he really did end up helping, his incessant annoyance towards them was genuinely fun to watch.

I do fear for Coulson and how close he’s getting to the ATCU and Price, like Price is playing some sort of long game with Coulson that he’s actually falling for. If  Coulson really thinks all the cards are currently in his hands, having gotten to see her base while she’s still okay with not seeing his, he really has another thing coming and probably soon. I don’t hate Price in the slightest, I think her back story for wanting to help the Inhumans is emotional and relatable. However it’s still hard to look past the fact that they’re capturing Inhumans because they’re different with little regard for whether or not they WANT to stay an Inhuman or not.

I also don’t think they’re really going to kill off young money- I mean Strucker this early in the game. They killed Baron von Strucker in Avengers: Age of Ultron leaving for the possible rise of his son into the world of villainy. However I also don’t see him surviving this season at all, but to die this soon would be wholly surprising in my opinion. On the flip side to that they teased his death a few episodes ago and that ended up being a bust, I don’t see them doing that two times in a row. And if they do, then the third time they do this they better damn well kill him.

What I would have liked to have seen is actually getting to know more about Strucker on a personal level, with them having made a big deal out of him enrolling in Andrew’s class a few episodes ago. Watch him come to odds with hurting Andrew maybe after Andrew spent a few episodes trying to help him get over his family issues. But ultimately as we know that’s now what we did, and even though they missed a possibly strong story plot there, I’m curious to see where they take these two characters from here. I can only assume Andrew will have blood out for Strucker assuming he’s still alive from this point on. Strucker, that is.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still going strong this season. But while Ii do enjoy their fast approach to the story, it might be hurting certain plots points and characters rather than helping them.

Final Score: 3 Faked Near-Death Experiences out of 5
